September at Headspace is giving us plenty to talk about! We have two new associate stylists officially joining the fun, a September offer that makes getting in their chairs even sweeter, a Virgo-approved lineup for anyone who likes their products to have a purpose, something very different joining the Headspace shelves, and fall hair inspiration officially starting to take over our camera rolls.
This month, we’re also talking about something we wish more salon guests knew: you don’t need to walk into your appointment speaking hairstylist.
You don’t have to decide whether the color you saved is technically auburn, cinnamon, strawberry, cowboy copper, or something else entirely. You don’t need to know which technique will get you there. We’re doubling up on our Hotties of the Month because we have two new faces we’re SO excited for y’all to get to know.
Meet Daisy + Chloe, our newest associate stylists at Headspace.
Becoming an associate is about so much more than getting behind the chair. It’s time spent learning how to turn the technical side of doing hair into a really great salon experience: stronger consultations, thoughtful color choices, understanding timing, refining technique, learning how different hair responds, and building the confidence that comes from doing the work alongside an experienced team.
It’s also one of our favorite stages to watch.
You get to see a stylist find what they love, develop their own point of view behind the chair, and become more confident in the little decisions that eventually make their work feel like their work.
That’s where Daisy and Chloe are right now, and we wanted to give our Headspace hotties a reason to be part of it.

Virgo season has officially arrived, and if any zodiac sign was going to have a Notes app dedicated to their hair routine, we have a feeling it would be this one.
The reference photos are organized.
The next Headspace appointment was booked before leaving the chair.
And every product in the bathroom has been thoroughly researched before earning its place on the shelf.
Naturally, we had to build a Virgo mood board.
Instead of choosing products simply because they look good together, we went for three hardworking essentials that solve very specific problems. Because if we’re doing this properly, everything needs a purpose.

The Headspace Strip Club Is Now Open
There’s something new at Headspace this month, and for once, it has absolutely nothing to do with your hair.
Sleep or Die Sleep Strips are officially on our shelves.
They’re made for those nights when you are completely ready to go to sleep and your brain has decided this is actually the ideal time to revisit an awkward conversation from 2017, reorganize tomorrow’s schedule, and wonder whether you remembered to respond to that text.
Instead of a gummy or another pill on the nightstand, Sleep or Die uses a thin minty strip that dissolves directly on your tongue.
The formula includes low-dose melatonin, GABA, L-theanine + 5-HTP and comes in an easy format that can live on your nightstand or travel with you.
Peel the strip, let it dissolve, and consider it a little cue that the day is officially over.

Let’s talk about the folder currently taking over your camera roll.
Maybe yours is full of rich copper hair. Maybe it’s lived-in blonde, glossy brunette, layers, bangs, extensions, or five colors that look completely different to you but are somehow all saved under the same mental category of this.
Those photos are useful.
In fact, we would much rather see what you’re naturally drawn to than have you stress about finding the technically correct salon terminology before your appointment.
A good consultation isn’t a vocabulary test.
When you show your stylist several reference photos, we can start looking for the common thread between them.
Maybe every color you saved has warmth around the face but more depth through the rest of the hair. Maybe you keep choosing photos with a softer root. Maybe what you’re calling “copper” is really a specific level of brightness or dimension that keeps catching your eye.
You might not have the language for it yet.Your stylist does.
That’s one of the reasons bringing multiple inspiration photos can actually be more helpful than arriving with one photo you want copied exactly. When we can compare what you’ve saved, we can start identifying what you consistently like and what might simply be specific to the person in the photo.
And that gives us somewhere much better to start.
What Your Stylist Is Looking at When You Show Us an Inspiration Photo
You see the hair you love.
We’re looking at that too, but we’re also paying attention to everything that would need to happen to translate it onto your hair.
What is your current starting point? Is your hair natural or previously colored? How much dimension is in the inspiration? How bright are the lightest pieces? How much depth has been left behind? Is the color warmer or cooler than what you currently have?
Then there’s the haircut, texture, density, and styling.
A color photographed on long, heavily layered hair styled with a big blowout can read very differently on shorter hair worn naturally. The same placement can show up differently depending on density and texture. Even lighting can dramatically change the way a hair color photographs.
That doesn’t make your reference photo unrealistic or unhelpful.
It means our job is to figure out which parts of it you love most and how those ideas can work on you.
Sometimes the answer is very close to the original photo.
Sometimes we adjust the tone, placement, brightness, depth, or technique to better suit your starting point and the amount of upkeep you want.
That conversation is where customization begins.
